Stuck in Salad Bar LimboIt was like any ordinary school day; everyone wanted to go home as soon as they got there. All twenty of us were sitting in our fourth period English class, the bell just about to ring. The boy sitting next to me ask what was for lunch.
The whole class immediatly groaned as though they had all instantly been changed into zombies. The bell rang and everyone jumped up and bolted out of the classroom and down the crowded hallway. Except for me, I stood waiting paitently for my friend as he shoved his English notebook into his backpack. "LET'S GO!" He shouted, walking out the door quickly. I followed him from one end of the building to other until we finally got to the gym where we had to stand in line. "I'm going to have salad bar. Deli sandwiches suck monkey nuts!" He told me. "Yeah, but I'd rather not be stuck in salad bar limbo. Ya know? With nothing but ramone lettuce, cups of shredded cheese, wheat bread, and ice cold lunch meat." I smirked. "Well you can go to deli
Playground AnticsIt was around 11:30 a.m. when the first graders were let out for recess. Ivan ran out onto the playground gleefully, looking for his first grade love, Yao. He easily spotted the dark haired boy on the swing set, holding onto his small panda stuffed animal. Ivan ran over to him, stumbling over his own two feet every other step. "Yao-Yao!" He shouted happily, claiming the swing next to his "boyfriend." "Ivan!" Yao shouted, swinging higher on the swing. "I'm gonna push you!" Ivan giggled, jumping off his swing and running behind Yao. "Nooo!" Yao whined, dragging his feet in the gravel to slow the swing down. "Da!" Ivan smiled, shoving Yao forward. Yao fell off the swing, face first into the gravel. "I'm telling!" He shouted, picking himself up and running to the teacher. "No!" Ivan wailed, racing after him.
"Ivan pushed me!" Yao said loudly as he tugged on the teacher's shirt. "Did he really?" The teacher asked. Yao nodded, "Well we'll have to have a talk." She said, patting Yao's head, j
In the London RainIt was around 7:30 P.M, and Arthur was walking home from a world meeting. He glanced up at the sky with tired green eyes; the sky was full of bleak gray clouds, just threatening to let out a downpour at any moment. He sighed, "I'm so glad I forgot my umbrella today " He said sarcastically, just as the sky boomed with thunder.
Almost immediately, large, fat drops of rain began to pour down from the sky, bouncing off people's rooftops and their umbrellas. He sighed then felt the drops stop hitting his shoulders. He looked to his side and was surprised to see Alfred holding an umbrella over his head. "You should've brought an umbrella!" He said loudly. Arthur smiled slightly, "Aren't you supposed to be back at the hotel with the others?" He asked. Alfred shook his head, "Nah, I thought you might like some company, so I followed you!" He beamed. "You know your hotel room has been paid for already " Arthur said; it wasn't that he didn't want Alfred walking with him, it was just he
Blue Eyes in FlamesWhen the prince sees the flower bloom from the palm of her hand, he orders her arrest.
She is only seven years old.
He takes the flower from her and keeps it, even though he knows he shouldn't. He puts it a vase, or, rather, his servant does that for him. The flower doesn't ever die, even years later.
It's dawn of a December morning, and he's cold. But still, he stands next to his father dutifully and looks at the little girl with blue eyes that are now black from seven nights sleeping on a cold, dungeon floor behind bars. They cut off her dark brown hair during that time. She's tied to the pyre, and there are seven guards around her, holding sharper swords than normal, not that she could get away. There's one man dressed in black holding an unlit torch, with a mask over his face to prevent his death. His father raises his arm, and the torch is lit.
She locks her gaze to his, and he blinks at her. It's like she expects him to prevent it. He couldn't, though, he can't. She scares him, w
